Issue

During the license activation process, one of the following error messages appears:


Error 1

Error: File format 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\ActivatorTemp\NewActivation.xdat' is not valid for this application. Unable to load the file.

Error 2

C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\ActivatorTemp\NewActivation.dat contains an incorrect path.


Cause

These error messages are typically caused by insufficient permissions on the folder where neoStampa stores the license activation files.

If the application cannot read from or write to this folder, the activation files may become inaccessible or invalid, resulting in one of the errors above.


Solution

Verify the permissions of the following folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\

Make sure that:

  • The folder and all its subfolders (including ActivatorTemp) have Read and Write permissions.

  • The current Windows user has Full Control of the folder.

  • No security software or Windows policies are preventing the application from accessing or modifying the files.

After updating the permissions:

  1. Close neoStampa.

  2. Confirm that the folder permissions have been applied correctly.

  3. Restart neoStampa.

  4. Repeat the license activation process.


If the issue persists

If the activation still fails after verifying the folder permissions, contact Technical Support and provide:

  • A screenshot of the error message.

  • The permissions configured for the neoStampa 10 folder.

  • Any security software or antivirus running on the computer.
