This explains how to use cutting plotter driver options.

Be aware this method will only cut square shape around the images and not contours.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Creating cutting marks

  1. Go to Crop and Reg Marks
  2. Activate the Print and registration marks option.
  3. Select the appropriate cutting style (or the cutting mark style of the plotter). Most common are
    1. Gunner. Marks are full circles spaced adapted to Mosaic copies.
    2. Saga. Marks are full circles on an empty square, spaced adapted to Mosaic copies.
    3. Trimmer. Single line with marks for each cut.
  4.  For Gunner and Saga there's an additional option to define spacing between position points. This option can change the size of the page when generating multi-page PLT files.
  5. Choose the marks color (normally it will be black but some other plotters might use white). There's an additional option to prevent printing of white ink on top of the mark, so it can be readon the backside.
  6. Click on Apply.

Configure the Contour Cutting options

  1. Go to the Contour Cutting properties.
  2. Select the Cut Surrounding box option, we can specify a Distance if needed (to add some bleed around the image).
  3. Click Apply and click the Cut... button to open the cutting plotter menu.
  4. If we want to print multiple copies, we can generate them with Mosaic option.

Configure the cutting plotter

  1. On the contour cutting options select the plotter, Gunner CNC Flatbed Cutter for example. If the plotter is not installed, click on Configure and add it.
  2. You can select the connection option. Both FILE and USB connection are available.
  3. Select <mirror cut> option in order to cut from the end of the printing roll.

Generate the plt file

  1. Click on Cut! button to generate the plt file with the cutting information or to send the cutting information directly to the printer if configured to send through USB.
  2. Move the the cutting head to the first mark (bottom left), and load the cutting file. If you use direct USB connection, you need to position the head before sending the file.
