This article explains how to retrieve printing history when setting up a new computer or maintaining access from an existing one. Depending on your setup, you can either connect directly to the existing database or perform a manual migration to transfer the data.
1. Connect to the existing database
If the old computer will remain running, you can connect the new computer to its database:
- Go to Preferences > Data Source
- Add the database using the old computer’s IP address and port.
- For detailed steps, refer to the article: How to connect neoControl data source in Control Center
- Ensure the required port is accessible through the firewall: How To Open Firewall Ports for Control Center and others
2. Database migration (manual process)
If you prefer to move the data to the new computer, follow these steps:
On the old computer:
- Stop the neoControl Service from Services
- Navigate to:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\neoControl - Locate the neoControl folder and compress (ZIP) it
On the new computer:
- Stop the neoControl Service
- Go to the same path:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\neoControl - Rename the existing neoControl folder (as a backup)
- Copy the ZIP file from the old computer
- Extract it into:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\neoStampa 10\ - Start the neoControl Service
Note: If you plan to keep using the old computer as a workstation, remember to restart the neoControl Service after completing the process.
